The Future Farmers of America is a national organization of farm boys reaching from the state of Wash- ington to Puerto Rico and from Maine to Hawaii. Founded in 1928, the Future Farmers of America are celebrating their 26th year. This organization uses parliamentary procedure and believes that a chapter is no better than its officers. The Sutton Chapter, which is one of the oldest in the state of West Virginia, consists of four degrees of membership. The Future Farmers strive to live by their motto: Learning to Do Doing to Learn Earning to Live Living to Serve. 37

Future Homemakers of America is a private, non-profit organization, incorporated under the laws of the District of Columbia. It co-operates with the office of Education, Federal Security Agency, and the Ameri- can Home Economics Association, in promoting home economics study and instructions, and all phases of homemaking activities, in private, public, and secondary schools. This organization was founded in June 1945 under a provisional constitution, but the national constitution was not ratified until July 9, 1948. The West Virginia Association Future Homemakers was the 13th state to be granted a charter, and at this time the Sutton Chapter was affiliated. The flower is the red rose, the colors red and white, and the motto--- Toward New Horizons, which proves that this organization is always working for the best. The officers of the Sutton Chapter are: Janice Arnold, President: Dorothy Humphreys, Vice President in charge of Program of Workg Nancy Rose, Vice President in Charge of Public Relations, Becky Shamblin, Vice President in charge of Music and Recreation, Carole Berry, Vice President in charge of Parliamentary Proce- dures Louise Martin, Secretary, Gela Williams, Treasurer, Flora Dyer, Historian, Mrs. Frances Howard.
