Dedication Students . . . Cheering the team to victory, sweating over a difficult test, faithfully doing home work-are only a small portion of the meritorious accomplishments of the students of SHS. The average student in addition to meeting scholastic requirements, finds time to participate in a diversity of activities from working in the library to participating in strenuous sports. The students are also willing to partic- ipate in the planning and the organizing of clubs, social affairs, and events staged for the benefit of their classes and other individuals. Without hesitation and with sincere respect to you the students, we, the 1960 Calumet Staff, take great pl-easure in dedicating this yearbook to you. May it always remind you of your fruitful years at SHS.

Board of Education Members of the Board conduct business Five men from each of the six districts of the Southern joint School System carry the responsibility of running the jointure efficiently. All important items are brought before them for discussion and wise decisions. Included in the school board's activities are the tasks of setting up the budget and determining bus routes for the six schools. They also approve any administrations plans and building plans.
