In vain we build the world unless The builder also grows. -Edwin Markham Today we follow, tomorrow we shall build the world! However, in order to build, we ourselves must be properly constructed. Everywhere can be found the materials for construction, waiting for us to realize and use them. Whether we build a mansion or a bungalow makes no difference, as long as it is constructed of solid materials . . . materials of knowledge and education held together by truth and respect. The Construction of Tomorrow's Builders . . . that is the theme for the Calumet of 1955. Throughout the pages of this book you will find recorded the tools, materials and activities that went into the construction of us all. May we never forget them, for they are the foundation on which we as builders shall continue to grow! -Nancy Gaeckler and Bill Gantz, Co-Editors i
