SERVING THE SCHOOL The Z-Club, under the direction of Mrs. Jenson, is a service organization which has been set up to serve the community and its school. Baskets were collected and delivered to needy families at Thanksgiving. A Christmas party was given for the Special Ed classes at Cedarhurst in December, and the club assisted with the Special Olympics in the Spring. HOT- DOGGING IT In addition to organiz- ing their ski activities, the members raised funds by participating in selling at a booth at the Town Fair, showing movies, pro- moting a ski swap, and organizing a raffle. They also attend demonstra- tions on the various aspects of the sport and hope to meet with other ski groups for joint ac- tivities. The club is advised by Mr. Leon Cook.

SCHOLASTIC PRIDE The National Honor Society consists of students who excel in scholarship, character, leadership and service; they have achieved a scholastic average of 90 at the time of induction. In striving to be of service to the school, the society provides peer tutoring and assistance in the taping of books for learning disabled students. They also participate in a student challenge at Tompkins-Cortland Community Col- lege, and raise funds for their annual induction ceremony. NOS GUST AMOS ESPANOL The members of the Spanish Club, under the supervision of Mrs. Sharon Baldwin, cooperate in group activities to foster inter- national understanding. These activities in- clude making and selling Christmas Pinatas, a Mexican meal at the El Cholo Cafe, pro- moting a bowling contest, participating in a Foreign Lanuage Fair, speaking Spanish at the Emerson weekend, and organizing a white elephant auction. STUDENT COUNCIL NEWSPAPER STAFF This year the Student Council’s first big project was to organize Homecoming in October. Other projects later on were the Pep Club. Saber Christmas and the hall monitor system. The year saw the reopening of the bookstore after a long absence, and a clothing drive for Mrs. Yurka’s class. The Council has high hopes each year and makes plans to promote school spirit and improve campus life. Everyone's support and help is needed and encouraged. Advisors are Mrs. Cox and Mrs. Donnelly. Once again this year the Saber Scene was put out by a faithful few. Under the guidance of Mrs. Haskell and Mrs. Donnelly, the school paper reported happenings of SV, the life, the sports, the opinions.
