P. 14 Local Exchange Students — SABER TALES Peter Gillberg As a Swedish exchange student that has had the opportunity of being a member of the S.V. senior class, I would like to thank you all for making this such a memorable year. This has been one of the best years of my life, and I will never forget it. Maybe someday I'll be able to come and visit again. Thank you, Peter. Johan Lange This year has really been one of the best years of my life and I will never forget it. I have had so many new experiences and a lot of new friends. P. 16 LOCAL VICE PRINCIPALS — SABER TALES ASSISTANT Spencer appointed temporary VP This 1983-84 school year S V has a new Vice- principal. Mr Spencer is replacing Mr. Service who was last year's V.P Mr. Spencer is only a replacement and will be here until they find a permanent replacement for V.P here at S.V. Mr. Spencer has a long background of working at various schools as not only V.P. and Principal but he was a teacher, substitute teacher and also a football coach for many years. When asking Mr. Spencer if S.V. students were in general “bad kids he replies that he had never met a bad kid. Mr Spencer feels that all students should be able to show themselves in their best light. He also feels that he is more lenient with students as far as punish- ments are concerned because he would like the students, not to be afraid of him but instead see that he is the type of person that students cane talk to. Mr. Spencer also tells us that he strongly believes in giving each student a chance to say what he or she feels. Mr. Spencer feels as though he is very fair and he throughly working with S.V. students and faculty very much. Mr. Spencer has made changes here at S.V. One of the more important changes which he has made is the listing students that he is to see. opposed to having the students called out of class. Mr Spencer feels this is very important not only to him but the students. This system enables the students to see Mr. Spencer on their free time and it also gives students responsibility and independence which Mr. Spencer feels is very im- portant. When asking Mr. Spencer what his main goal or ac- complishment was for his students here at S.V. he replied that he would like S.V. students to learn how to solve their own problems; he wants the students to strive for independence also. Mr. Spencer considers himself a very optomistic man who sees the best in people. He enjoyed education as a kid and ap- preciated school as a place to learn and to see friends also. Mr. Spencer spends his weekends fishing, Hunting, at S.V. sports events, and with his family. I asked Mr. Spencer if he could have one wish come true what it would be, he replied that Students have good health and he also wants peace. Mr. Spencer has been doing a fine job here at S.V. the students seem to like him and the faculty supports him.
