P. 14 Local Exchange Students — SABER TALES Peter Gillberg As a Swedish exchange student that has had the opportunity of being a member of the S.V. senior class, I would like to thank you all for making this such a memorable year. This has been one of the best years of my life, and I will never forget it. Maybe someday I'll be able to come and visit again. Thank you, Peter. SABER TALES — Local Concerts P. 13 A BUSY CONCERT SEASON 1983-84 was a busy con- cert season for the music ensembles at Susquehanna Valley High School. Nov. 11 was the first concert of the year. A Fall concert was a new addition to the calendar this year. Dec. 21 was the annual Christmas concert. Festive music was performed by all groups and Santa Claus made his yearly visit. 1984 began with a Pops concert on Feb. 15, providing the audience with lighter concert numbers and show tunes. March 14 was the extravagant Music in our Schools Week Concert. All music ensembles in the Junior and Senior High perform as SV recognizes this national observance of music educa- tion. The season was brought to a close on May 31 with the Arts Festival. In addition to musical performances, displays are set up by the Art, Home Ec and Industrial Arts Departments. In addition to school con- certs, the band, chorus and orchestra performs at local parades, schools and other public places. Our high school ensembles had a busy year as they continued to rehearse, perform and keep music in the eyes and ears of the community.
