Our country, and indeed the world, is faced with a recession that many equate with the depression years of the 20's. Unemployment is at its highest figure since that time. Jobs are scarce, inflation is rampant — in short, this is not the best of times for a graduate to be seeking his fortune in a highly competitive job market. Despite all of this, I am filled with renewed confidence whenever I bid farewell to another graduating class. I say this because I know that you, along with all other graduates across the country, are the hope and salvation of our great country. Each and every one of you will make your contributions to our society in a variety of different fields. I have confidence in you, as you go forth, that you will be equal to whatever tasks the road ahead opens up to you. If you all keep before you a simple ideal, then our future as a nation will be secure — that ideal is simply that man’s reach must always exceed his grasp. Best of luck and much success in the years ahead. Samuel S. Cadden 2 RDfTllNETRRTIDN ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE I offer my best wishes to the Class of '83 for the successful completion of their high school careers. Susquehanna Valley High School has offered you the opportunity for a quality education which will prove to be beneficial for your future. It is my fondest hope that each and every member of the Class of '83 has taken complete advantage of this opportunity. Your high school education and its memories will be yours forever. I am hopeful that each student in the Class of '83 will meet all of their future goals and aspirations. Mr. Service ................................................. ....... I would like to thank all those involved in any way in composing this year’s yearbook, your cooperation was appreciated. It's been a long year and an uphill battle, but through our troubled times I sincerely hope that only one student (or more) now has the understandings of what true responsibilities are. I hope that all the students graduating learn how to make, and keep, commitments. I wish to apologize to all the clubs, activities, people, events, or homerooms who were missed or deleted. The over- sights were not intentional nor deliberate, but pro- blems did arise in various ways and to different degrees. We hope that you enjoy your yearbook, it's a lasting memory of your 1982-83 school year at Susquehanna Valley Senior High School. Miss White — Financial Advisor 114 It’s coming to a close our time together; But the memories we share will be with us forever. We’ll remember the good times full of love and laughter; And the pain and heartaches that made us grow up a lot faster. And as time goes on and we all go our separate ways; Inside our hearts the things we shared will stay for always. Kris DeRitis PI It’s the rabbit — Dee Surprised Julie? Strawberry Shortcake?
