s A G E PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE In our changing world it has become necessary for the modern day high school to not only sustain past gains made in secondary education, but also to develop and main- tain a program of universal secondary education, which affords to each American youth, the maximum opportunity for achieving self-realization and social effectiveness. This goal demands that the quantity and quality of secondary education be greatly ex- tended, so that all the abilities of our youth are properly developed. It is my fondest hope that we have provided you, the graduates of the class of 1982, with some measure of success in achieving this goal, as you go forth to seek your private destinies in today’s turbulent society. My very best wishes to each and every one of you in this quest. 2

Brian Gorski 1964-1979 The 1981-82 yearbook staff would like to dedicate the 81-82 Saber Tales to Brian Gorski. Brian was to graduate this June with the class of '82, but in the summer of 1979, Brian was tragically struck down from behind by a car and was killed. Brian was born on October 20, 1964 in Montrose, Pennsylvania. Brian was the son of Frank and Patricia Gorski, who also have two other sons, Frank and Steven, and a daughter, Vicky. They live at 906 Conklin Road in Conklin. Brian attended the F. P. Donnelly Elemen- tary School for grades K-6. He went on to attend the Junior High School in Conklin. Although Brian is no longer with us, he will always be in the thoughts of everyone in Susquehanna Valley. So once again we wish to dedicate this year's Saber Tales to the memory of Brian Gorski, a friend to us all. z©-H r)-nnc
