Text from Pages 1 - 168 of the 1968 volume:

These are the oung years, the fruitful years when time means only the day. after tomorrow. These are the years of wistful eyed beings with tender dreams, but youth is brutal as well as tender, and youth is reality as well as a dream. 2 A flower blooms and fades and blows away --and blooms again, according to the season; and in like manner youth exists from spring to spring, for these are the years of our youth. 3 4 Edited by Lynne Lauderbach and Kay Pierce The theme of the 1968 Saber Tales is ‘'Youth”, and we, the students of Susquehanna Valley High School, are proud to dedicate this edition of the Saber Tales to a teacher who has done so much for the young people of this school both academically and athletically. We feel that this man has been able to make his subject come “alive” for his students through a combination of knowledge, understanding, and wit. With the dexterity of a juggler, he has balanced math in one hand and football or tennis in the other. In the classroom, field, or gym, he has shown his unfailing interest and concern for the youth of S. V. For the knowledge, understanding, and dedication he has given us, we dedicate the 1968 Saber Tales to Mr. John O’Donnell. Dedication Seniors 8 42 Juniors. 64 Faculty, U 98 Sports..
