QABE R TALES PRESENTS MOUNTAIN CLIMBING STARRING Valleg High I ' School I FOREWORD In 1958, we entered these halls to learn, so that education would bring knowledge and knowledge season into wisdom. Now in 1965, we prepare to leave. These six years have been a long, sometimes tedious ascent to reach the peak of a mountain. It has been a steep climb, often exacting, always calling for courage and determination. But it has not been fruitless. Now we stand on a peak. If we turn our eyes to what is below us, we see it with clearness and understanding. If we lift our heads, we gaze above, at the higher mountains we have yet to conquer. Lest we forget this journey, lest others never know, we record it in the following words and pictures.

vi- DEDICATION g To our yearbook advisor, Mr. Wayne E. Bowdish, we the Senior class of 1965 dedicate this yearbook. And it is with much pride and sentiment that we do this. To each of us, association with Mr. Bowdish has meant enrichment, and we are grateful. Since this school first opened in 1957, Mr. Bowdish has played an important role in guiding the students that have come here to learn and mature. As well as teaching English these seven years, he has organized and advised Sr. Dramatics and Honor Society. Toward the publication of our yearbooks he has devoted many long and often tiring hours. His willing service has been an immeasurable gift to the growth and development of our school. But it is more than mere gratitude that prompts us to dedicate this book to Mr. Bowdish, It is the ineffable admiration we have for him. His optimism, his kindness, his great faith in human nature are refreshing in an age when men tend to forget these things. Knowing the shallowness of mere words and facts, he teaches good- ness and honor by example. But most of all, he inspires and encourages us by his immeasurable faith in human nature. This is the wisdom he passes on to his students, the wisdom with which he has won our admiration. And so we dedicate this yearbook to Mr. Bowdish, that those who come 'after us will know the great respect and af- fection we have for him,
