Sunset High Dads Club during the year l943-l944 has attempted to live up to its traditional motto of
"Working in the lnterest of Sunset High School." Throughout the year great emphasis has been given to
student participation in the programs of the Club in order to maintain close relationship between dads and
the student body.
Among the chief objectives accomplished by the club during the year are the following: cash prizes
each semester to outstanding students in ten subjects, awards each semester to four outstanding R. O.
T, C. membersy gold fcotballs to each member of the championship football team, scholarship to R. O.
T. C. encampment to deserving member cf R. O. T. C4 election of Dads Club Oueen from student body, with
appropriate gifts to her and her tive attendants at a coronation ceremony which was one of the high-
lights of the athletic season. Other appropriate awards were made to students for outstanding accomplish-
ments. Probably the outstanding objective accomplished by the club during the year was the creation of a
fund, to which a substantial sum was appropriated, to be used at the termination of the present World War
for the erection of an appropriate memorial to perpetuate the memory of former students of Sunset who give
their lives in the service of their Country.
