Past President The Sunset High Dads Club, the first of its kind, has been the largest high school Dads Club each year since its organization in 1925 and has been instrumental in organ- izing similar clubs in many other schools of the state. The object of the Club is to promote a more friendly cooperation between the students, faculty, and parents and to assist in furthering those things which will be helpful to Sunset High School. Each year this Club makes cash awards to outstanding students in several school subjects, and gives a scholarship to one R. O. T. C. cadet who would not otherwise be able to attend Camp Dallas. This year, souvenir gold footballs were presented to each letter man on the championship team and similar trophies have been promised to all Sunset athletic teams winning the city series in their sports. Sunset High School Parent-Teacher Association, Organized in 1925, is a unit of the National Congress and the Texas Congress of Parents and Teachers, and is a member of the Dallas City Council of Parent-Teacher Associations. It has the largest membership of any Parent-Teacher Association in the city and is one of the largest in Texas. This marks the second year that a College Scholarship has been given to a deserving graduate of Sunset High School. The development of this organization has become a factor in under- standing, supporting, and interpreting education. The motto of this Association is In essentials, unityg in non-essentials, libertyg ,in all things, charityf, Meetings are held on the second Friday of each month at 10:00 A. M. in the school auditorium. Parents and teachers are urged to become members and take their place in developing Hne relationships in family, school, and community life.
