Page 22 ,HY Y Y ....,,, - Tl-IE BISON I-IEAD'S DIARY SEPTEMBER 15. Boy, am I glad to see the old herd back again! 2,442 strong, with 318 more'n last year. It's beyond me where Papa White'll put 'em all! SEPTEMBER 16. I hear everybody askin! where Miss Hopkinson and Mr. Chalk are. Moanings over changed programs an' boasts about those that stood the strain. SEPTEMBER 17. Well, again Papa White did his stuff and solved the more roomv prob- lem with an extra lunch period and new rooms. SEPTEMBER 20. The purple boys made their debut Friday night an' I watched proudly as the ball was placed in the trophy case. Sunset 32, South Park 0. SEPTEMBER 21. Carroll's radio speech welcomin' the fish made me wish I was just enterinll fBut not really.j SEPTEMBER 22. Settlin, down to business now. Lotsa P. Gfs. SEPTEMBER 23. New fire signals announced. QWill I laugh when the front door's ob- structed and all those little bisons hafta find another way outlj SEPTEMBER 24. Sure must be hard to hafta limit yourself to only three of all those pretty gals out for cheer leader. Isham, Malone, Wood, Ellis, Scott, and Spencer won out. SEPTEMBER 27. Bisons rompcd on McKinney 40 to 0 and another ball is added to our store. The high 'n' mighty IV-Als elect officers. Bull Malon-ey, president. SEPTEMBER 28. Herd went Scotch today and Papa dreams of that thrift cup. SEPTEMBER 29. Kids fussin' 'bout the heat-oughta be glad they can take their coats off 'n' on. SEPTEMBER 30. Looks like everybody's got a Siafnpede. What! They ran out? Guess Mr. Hutto'll know better next time. OCTOBER 1. Lottsa pep over that comin, football game with the Bulldogs. Mr. Panter- muehl and Earl proud as punch at that golf trophy. And who wouldn't be! OCTOBER 4. Sunset 14, North Dallas 14, but from the general babble below I gathered that my fellows were on the orange three yard line when the game ended! OCTOBER 5. I'm still hearin' nice things about the Dads Club an' that swell fireworks display at the football game. OCTOBER 6. Clubs off to a fine start. Pan-Americans, Stamp collectors and Biologists met today. IV-B,s elected officers. OCTOBER 7. Callin' all camera fans. Vfhew! Didn't know there were so many! OCTOBER 8. Everybody wonderin' whether they'd go to the assembly or stay in advisory. CAII the time I knew there wasn't goin' to be any assembly.j OCTOBER 11. Well, no longer are the bisons without their Mayor of Boundary. Mr. Maiden takes Mr. Chalk,s place in that honored position. OCTOBER 12. Looks like we've got a swell chance to win that thrift cup and gloat over those Bulldogs. OCTOBER 13. Yea, ain't she cute! That little mascot. She,s another Goodman. Camera Club elects officers. OCTOBER 14. Three long bells! Everybody started out shiverin' 'cause they just knew they'd freeze outside, but foolie, foolie, the stop signal came and Papa is pro- nounced a good sportf, OCTOBER 15. Pep Assembly for the tussle with Forest and from the yellin' tonight afterwards I know the Bisons brought home the bacon for rather the Lion.j OCTOBER 18. Carroll Ellis re-elected as president of the student body, endin' one of the hottest political campaigns in the history of Sunset. OCTOBER 19. Papa,' announced advisory again tomorrow and all the kids are wonderin, why. I betcha I know, I betcha. OCTOBER 20. Yep! W'hat'd I tell you. Goin' to teach the herd to keep from bein, hurt and to keep from hurtin' others in traffic. OCTOBER 21. Another announcement ,bout that big football dance Saturday night. Donit forget it! fAs if you wouldlj OCTOBER 22. Mighty fine talk Shirley made 'bout her trip to Knoxville to the Student Council Convention.
