ADMIN I STRATI O A NEW ADDITION to Glendale Union High School District this year is our Superin- tendent, Mr. Melvin Zinser. Mr. Zinser was born in California and came to Sunnyslope when he was three. He attended Washington Grade School and Phoenix Union High School. After graduation, he attended Arizona State College where he received his Bach- elor's and Master's Degrees. ln 1949, he began teaching Civics at Glendale Union High School, where he taught for six years. Mr. Zinser comes to us from Washington High School where he has been principal since 1955. ADM! ISTRATIO and FACULTY MR. COFFIN, our principal, has been part of the progressive growth of our school. Starting in Sunnyslope as Assistant Prin- cipal and Bookstore Manager, while also teaching general mathematics, he has prog- ressed to the iob of Principal. Mr. Coffin attended Arizona State Col- lege at Tempe, where in 1949, he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree. In i952 he was back again at ASC to receive'his Master's Degree. Among his activities, besides serving as Principal, he has served on the Board of the Class A North Conference, being Sec- retary two years ago and President last year. He has been Secretary and President of the Salt River Valley Principals Asso- ciation, Secretary-Treasurer of the Arizona Association of Secondary Principals of which he will be Vice-President next year, and he has served on the Executive Board of the Arizona interscholastic Association.
