Class Hustory The year T942 was a bug year for us because that was the year we star ed to school Altnough the fursi eught years are becomung dum un our memory we do remember a few thungs We entered hugh school un the fall of T950 wuth many muschuevous udeas Our class was duvuded wuth Muss Counculman as Sponsor of the gurls and Mr Cogguns the boys The bug event of the year was a hayrude Then we were sophomores and our class was agaun duvuded wuth Muss Hunt and Mr Cogguns as sponsors That year we had a weuner roast at the Bur Mull Club and had a wonderful tume Before we knew ut we were uunuors wuth a most eventful year before us We started off rught by takung a trup to the Blue Rudge Parkway Wuth the help of our teachers Muss Gulbreth and Mrs Nelson we planned for the Junior Senuor Banquet Rausung money for ut was hard work but we had a lot of fun doung ut The banquet took place at the Emerywood Country Club un Hugh Pount on Aprul 'IO We were a luttle nervous at the begunnung but all un all had a mar velous tume All at once we are dugnufued senuors wuth forty members Mrs Lane us our sponsor and Bobby Gragg our class presudent We sold magazunes and worked un unuty to rause money for our trup to Washungton We have looked forward to our day of graduatuon for four years As ut us nearung we guve our grateful thanks to the faculty and to Mr Day for theur fune help and guudance un makung our days at Sumner Hugh happy ones ALLEN HUNTER Class Hustoruan Not merely t e ust bu I Whute Carnatuon Navy Blue and Vwhute amount to somethung un lufe Class Song Farewell to the Hugh School CTune Auld Lang Syne Fouu years we ve spent wuthun thy hall Through sunshune snow and raun Now as the vouce of mem ry calls We part from thee un paun Four years we ve learned but love for thee We looked to thee for aud And now we go to face the world as you ve Taught us unafraud Chorus Our hearts aue sad for now we know The tume to part us nugh Our thoughts wull often wander back To you, dear Sumner Hugh' SUE MITCHELL Class Motto Class Flower Class Colors
