This year Mr. Bartholomew is completing his thirtieth year as principal of Summit High School-his thirtieth year as the only princi- pal Summit High ever had. He has seen the school, as it grew in size from some 200 pupils to its present 624, become an important force in the community and state. Customs and clothes have changed since Mr. Bartholomew took office. Boys wore knickers both in chemistry class C extreme left? and gym lcenter Ieftl, while girls sported the Dutch bob. Many of Summit's prominent citizens of today played on the football team, like that of 1923 lbelowl, or studied book- keeping in the commercial department fbe- Iow rightl. The school has grown since then, and to this growth Mr. Bartholomew has con- tributed immeasurably, with the best inter- ests of the school always at heart.
