Music and physical training, while not technically shops, are included in this group, since they round out our varied educational program. Here busily engaged are, standing, Holmes A. One of the most capably handled departments iii Summit High is the commercial depariment, which prepares about 27 graduates every year for the business world. Subjects such as bookkeeping, Business and Society, typing, and business math are taught by Irene Hitz, Claire Statilc, Es- telle Van Patten, and Harry Kates. Examining a new textbook are Edith G. Weeber, French, Ioseph McClel- lan, history, Tilla Thomas, French and Spanish, Iohn Dilson, history, and Ruth B. Webb, Latin. Absent: Marie G. Brown, history, and Elizabeth Carew, Spanish and German.

enior The senior officers comprise the executive department of the senior class. The duties which tall to them include selecting the chairmen for senior events and leading any senior class meetings that might occur during the year. Here are stars Fred Speaker, president, Roger Pott, vice-president, Ioyce Spiker, secretary, Mary DeLuca, treasurer. The senior council discusses the policies to be followed at various senior events of the year. Here working on plans for senior banquet are Marie Adler, Philip Trowbridge, Bob Muir, Stevens Peale, and Alfred Feickert. Absent: Ioan Gridley and Beverly Price. Expert technical advisers to the senior class include Edith W. White, for social activities: the college preparatory students are advised by Marie G. Brownp Alton I. Gast advises the general preparatory students, and Estelle Van Patten, for the business preparatory students. I3
