The firat to break into thi honor roll w-at Guy Bole , who went to the atate algebra conteat in 1936 and the tecltonal geometry contett in 1937. Barbara Collint participated in the tectional algebra conteat in 1937. while Lotii Kelley took care of the geometry honon in 1938. Then there are three of the teven tenior bond member who ranked high in the aolo field, Billie Pollock, who hat entered the oio conteat for four year , ha five firat diviaion medal . She hat alto ranked third at the national contett in cornet. Betaie Reeve hat entered the conteat for three year ami hat three firttt to her credit. Lott year the not only won at the •late contett. but won firtt at the national contett on the toaitaphone. She will again participate at the national contett held in Michigan. May IS to 19. Paul Peck ha entered for four year and hat four fir t divition medal . He won third at the national conteat latt year on the trombone and will participate at the national contett again thi year. All three of the above mutictant have been atudent-conductor of the Sullivan High School Band during their junior and tenior year . Billie Pollock and Beatie Reeve were alto granted an audition for the National Youth Orchettra. Rotalind Wolfe began her Latin career by winning the State Latin ! contett in 1938 and competing in the State Latin II conteat in 1939. 1939 taw the clatt take on more honor at Marcella Eaton, the friendly office girl, and Helen Collin went to Danville. Indian , by way of typing. Marcella Hoetman entered the bookkeeping diviaion of the contett. The junior clatt play. Happy Landing , helped other to fame—Alice Ann Kirkham. Tom Brown. Jim Moore. Margot Brown, Martin Woodard. Martha Jane Davidaon. Marcia Connor. Sue Hofmann. Victor Bower. Dorothy Holdton. Harry Walter , and Howard Schroeder. Great ability wat ditplayed in all form of athletic by all the tenior team member . Special recognition wat given to tome at follow : Harry Walter . All-State Football Team, and the Wabath Valley Football Team; Bob Carter and Bob Clarkton. Wabath Valley Football Team. Sue Hofmann it out veteran yell leader, of four year , tervice. Anna Beth Fink rank tecond with three year of tervice. and Mildred Lowellyn with two year of yell leading for the Golden Arrow rank third, Barbara Campbell, Marcia Connor. Ruth Anna Dow non, Jean Price. Lorene Smith. Betty Martin. Marianna Taylor, Jean Waldorf, and Phyllit Coffman were outttamling in 4-H and their Stylet Through the Year won fifth place in the Mate contett at Purdue. Phyllit Coffman with her coutin. Nell, won all elimination contrtti latt year and placed firtt at the Mate contett with a clothing demonatration. Jean Waldorf it the narrator in a demonatration. The Quin , which i on the way to fame thi year. Betty Martin and Marianna Taylor are known for their charming voice and have been member of the S. H. S. trio for two year . Since there i no glee club for boy . Tom Brown. Jack McCotkey. and Jim Moore organired them tel vet into a threetome known at The Three JV In cate of need they are attitled by their fellow comedian. Joe Valentine, who wat editor of the Purple and Gold paper in 1939. Howard Schroeder. Charlet Ogle. Harry Walter , and Martin Woodard participated in the local Rotary oratorical contett. tpeaking on Rotary ami Youth. Howard reprevented Sullivan in the dittrict contett and placed tecond.
