And the 1983-84 Homecoming Queen Is ... The hustle and bustle of SHS ' s slice of life continued with the traditional homecoming activities. Each day different activities were planned which resulted in a tremendous boost in the student morale. On Monday cheerleaders started making spirit links, which classes chained together and competed for the longest chain. On Friday during the Pep Rally the winner was announced. Although it was a tight race with the fighting seniors, the Juniors won with over 4,000 links. Also on Monday students dressed up for 50 ' s day, Tuesday was backwards day, Wednesday was weird day, and Thursday was Kiddie day. The bif day, Friday, students donned their red and white clothing in support of the team. The cheerleaders presented hilarious skits and helped cheer the team on to Victory. Their pleas for getting more spirit were answered when the gym began to rock. The Spirits juniors were announced the winners of the class cheering competition. Afernoons were spent rushing behind school to work on the traditional class floats. Many long hours of hard work were put into improving each classes “creation. There was no traditional homecoming parade this year, but nevertheless, the band class attendants, and the floats circled the field during pregame and halftime activities. The Sophomore float won first place with “Hold That Tiger, and the Seniors placing second with “Tame the Tigers. The Juniors came in third with Tomahawk the Tigers, and lastly the freshmen with “Cage the Tigers. After being crowned Miss Homecoming, jewell is escorted off the field by Mr. Hill. lewell flashes her d ynamic smile as she takes her final ride around the field. - Vi • 28 r

The week before Homecoming eight lucky senior girls were chosen by their classmates to be the Homecoming Princess for 1983-84. It was from these eight that the Homecoming Queen was chosen.
