OUTSTfMDinG SEniORS JIMMY CROCKER The rare combination of brain plus brawn is found in our Student Senate president, Jimmy Crocker. Jimmy has been an officer in the senate for two years and a class officer earlier. His memberships included Hi-Y, Key Club, and Monogram Club. He has stood well in bis classes. Brains are not all, however. As a freshman be played JV football and then played three years on the varsity. His alertness and spirit of co¬ operation won for him the honor of serving as captain of the 1952 squad. Whenever the reputation of Suffolk High has been at stake, Jimmy’s industry, resourcefulness, and depend- abilitv have caused his fellow students to single him out to carry the colors. His Alma Mater will always be grateful for his many services. The five Seniors pictured on these pages were chosen front a class of fifty-one by the Seniors, themselves, each member naming two choices by secret ballot. They represent their classmates ' ideal of lead¬ ership, citizenship, scholarship, and personality. SUE WOODWARD We recognize in Sue, first and foremost, that brand of scholarship which we all salute. Studious—but never pedantic, she has set a challenging pace in our classrooms and helped us to see that integrity has its academic application. Para¬ doxically, perhaps, Sue is an accomplished musician, having won statewide acclaim with the flute. To round out the pic¬ ture let us mention the fact that Sue has represented her class three years in the Student Senate and has served as treasurer of the A.P.T.P. In spite of the heavy demand of her senior course she has cheerfully and willingly taken on one of the most exacting tasks connected with this yearbook—that of photograph editor. We know that Sue has set herself some mighty high goals and we’re equally sure that she will attain them. Our very best will go with her.
