Candy Salesmen Thus fall lunuor and senuor gurls bor rowed the football field on Monday and Thursday afternoons and transformed ut unto a hockey field The gurls were en thusuastuc about the game and became quute skulled Early un the season the gurls partucupat ung un hockey were unvuted to Vassar College There coached by Vassars hockey team they learned new skulls un drubblung druvung and team play Two teams an honor team composed of more experuenced senuor players and a second team consustung of begunners uourneyed to other schools un the county for competutuve games Only three games were played thus year but a great deal of experuence was gauned a lot of fun was had and the results were good: one win and two tie games. After each game e opposing teams met for refreshments an enioyecl talking with each other. The athletic minded freshmen and sophomore girls also stayed after school Fall Sports Constututuonal Commuttee twuce a week but theur game was soccer At frequent practuce sessuons they um proved the technuques and skulls learned un gym class and enuoyed the fun and challenge of the game Twuce the more experuenced players accompanued the hockey team to other schools and partucupated un soccer games wunnung one and tyung one Tennus drew a wude partucupatuon thus year both un the fall and un the sprung Once a week begunners un tennus met after school to learn the fundamentals of the game They practuced the varuous strokes and played some unformal games wuth each other Gurls who were more experuenced un thus sport partucupated un tournament ten nis. They stayed after school once a week to improve their skills and although they didnt compete with other schools in the county they enjoyed playing against each other.
