Vanity C oacb-PETER KURACHEK Jr. Vanizy C0d6b-WILLIAM MAHANEY TRACK The 1947 track and held team faced the task of upholding the fine record set by the 1946 squad. The schedule included a total of lil meets including 5 triangular meets, 7 dual meets, and 4 championships. The team lost many of its star competitors but made up for these losses with team balance. The middle distance runners and pointers carried the consistent scoring punch which was well supplemented by the pole vaulters and high jumpers. Two sprinters from last years state championship sprint relay team, Bruce Williams and Paul Villarosa. formed the nucleus of another fast quartet. it .P fini'
