Behind the hardened faces of men on the battle fronts, behind the concerned faces of the leoders of the countries, behind the bright faces of all loyal Americans, are the workings of an age-old institution f -1 an institution olmost as old os mon This is the institution which works with the various foods of the world to prepare nutritious meals as a contribution to the health of growing citizens This establishment not only feeds and clothes the young world, but sets in their minds the fundonnentals of good citizenship, democracy, and how to get along in the world. The home is the first social function with which an individual comes in contact, and therefore the home molds the minds of all future American builders l-low important it is for the proper training of the future leaders of the home, The different courses of Home Economics not only teach the students through study how to cook, sew, care for children, entertain guests, and all the other functions of the home, but, in the modern kitchen and sewing room of the department, the course gives the Students the reol experience which is ot such practical value.
