For the third year the Student Council served as the governing body of S. l-l. S. At the beginning of the year Judd Tarrant wcis elected president by the student body, and at the first meeting of the Council, Ronald Kiehn wos chosen vice-president, Jess Ann Cruickshank, secretary and treasurer, and Miss Brasstield, sponsor. One of the big undertakings ot the Council this year was the Homecoming festivities, which were com- paratively new to Sturgis, as this was only the second ot such affairs, Also sponsored by the Student Government were war stamp sales, a Christmas party, promotion of annual sales, and help in mointoining neotness in the halls. Standing committees are the Courtesy Committee, Assembly Committee, and Citizenship Committee. 28
