'HP of Earlv this fall, Viss Gibbs, lieutenant of the C.A.A., called for recruits to comoose the speedball varsitv. After many weeks of oractice, she chose the followins for the team: N. Never, G. Peot, F. Kern, B. Panke, F. Schroeder, H. Even- son, F. Schoentrunn, G. Hunsader, V. Gomoll, E. Johnson, and Lhrvel Kozlovsky. In Januarv, the girls formed intramural basketball teams. With close competition, Lhrion Suchv's team was victorious, and Connie Stroh's aggregation, defeated only once, olaced second. Then Miss Gibbs chose the most outstanding players from each class to constitute the class teams. From these, she selected the following for the varsity: D. Robillard, C. Rey- nolds, D. Stephenson, S. Enfvalson, M. Kozlovsky, J. Long, M. Meyer, and G. Lonzo. Our Lieutenant awarded her NE' for Excellency to the most outstanding zirls from each class: Seniors: Myra hmllendore, Ruth Konitzer, Shirley Enz- valson, and Marion Suchy. Juniors: Marvery Meyer, Bernice Allie, Florence Kern, and Connie Stroh. Sophomores: Betty Konrad, Doris Stephenson, Ruby Bongle, and Patsy Smith. Freshmen: Polly Kwapil, Betty Schroeder, Lhxine Hoes- man, and Donna Robillard.
