Commander Perrotta was born in Coraopolis, Pa. on 31 March, 1942 and was raised in Ohio and Pennsylvania. He enlisted in the United States Navy in April of 1961 and was commissioned via the Navy Enlisted Scientific Education Program QNESEPD in June, 1968 after graduating from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Previous sea tours include command of the USS READY CPG-871 a missile equipped Patrol Combatant home ported in the Mediterranean. His initial sea assignment was in 1968 on USS COLUMBUS QCG-125 as Deck and Radio Officer, then as Missile Battery Officer on USS BIDDLE CCG-341, Weapons Officer on USS SEMMES QDDG-181, and Executive Officer on USS PETERSON QDD-9695. His shore assignments include Combat Systems Training Requirements ection Head in the office of Naval Operations QOP-39l and most recently on my A gixlvsgxx omcis the staff of the Commander Naval Surface Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet as the Head of the Cruiser-Destroyer Combat Systems Requirement Section. Commander Perrotta has received the Meritorious Service Medal, The Navy Commendation Medal, The Navy Achieve- ment Medal and various other service medals. Commander Perrotta is married to the former Theresa Prah of Uniontown, Pa. The Perrottas and their three daughters, Laurie nn, Ashlie and Angela reside in Virginia Beach. Rear Admiral Richard C. Ustick Commander South Atlantic Force Rear Admiral Ustick was born on 12 January 1934 in Modesto, California and was commissioned an ensign through the Naval Reserve Officer Training QNROTCD Unit at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1956. His shipboard assignments include: Damage Control Assistant, USS Gunston Hall, QLSD-5lg Opera- tions Officer, USS Agerholm, CDD-826lg Executive Officer, USS Zellars, QDD-777l, and Command- ing Officer, USS Duval County, CLST-758D and later USS Rea- soner, QFF-10631 From 1979 to 1981 Rear Admiral Ustick had command of Destroyer Squadron Twenty One, a squadron of ten destoyers that deployed to the Western Pacific Fleet and lndian Oceans with the U.S. Seventh Fleet. He has served on the staff of the Commander Amphibious Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet and Commander Antisubmarine War- fare Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet. Rear Admiral Ustickls shore as- signments include: Two tours at the U.S. Naval Academy, first as an instructor, then from 1976 to 1979 as Chairman of the newly created Division of Professional Developmentg and two tours with the Bureau of Naval Personnel, Washington, D.C. The second as director of all U.S. Navy Person- nel assignment and placement. He was promoted to Rear Admiral on 9 April 1985 after having assumed command of USCOMSOLANT on 20 Febru- ary 1985, 6 Rear Admiral Ustick has mast- ers degrees in Operations Analy- sis from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, and in International Relations from the National War College at Fort McNair in Washington, D.C. He has been awarded the Legion of Merit with Star, Navy Com- mendation Medal, the American Expeditionary Medal, and the National Defense Medal. He is married to the former Bernice Ollar of Modesto, Califor nia and has three children: Brent Lori Ann, and Charon Leigh.
