Executive Officer Commander Williams D. Lynch Commander Lynch was born in 23 September 1949 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He subsequently moved to New York City, which he considers home. A graduate of Columbia University, he was commis- sioned an ensign in June 1971. His shipboard assignments include: First Lieutenant, USS DYESS QDD-8802 Gunnery Officer, USS MILLER QPF-109155 Assistant Engineering Officer, USS SPRUANCE CDD-96315 Engineering Officer, USS ARTHUR W. RADFORD QDD-9685. Commander Lynch's shore assignments include: duty at the Surface Warfare School, Newport Rhode Island as Senior Gas Turbine Engineering Instructor. He also served a tour at Cinclantflt's Propulsion Examining Board as Senior Gas Turbine Examiner. Commander Lynch has a masters degree in Computer System Management from the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, California. He has been awarded the Navy Commen- dation Medal with gold star and Navy Achievement Medal. Commander Lynch is married to the former Barbara Bird of Freeport, New York and has two children: Nulty and Brennan. The Lynch's reside in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Captain William , Rodriguez Chief of Staff Captain Rodriguez was born on 20 October 1937 in New York City and graduated from City College of New York in 1959. He was commissioned through the Aviation Officer Candidate Pro- gram and designated a Naval Flight Officer in May 1961. l-le had operational flying tours with Patrol Squadron Forty- Five homeported in Bermuda, Patrol Squadron Twenty-Four Homeported in Patuxent River, Maryland, from 1977 to 1979 was Executive Officer and then Commanding Officer of Patrol Squadron Forty-Five in Jackson- ville, Florida. l-le has been desig- nated a tactical coordinator in the SP-5B Marlin and P-3AfP-3 C Orion Aircrafts and has deployed to virtually every patrol7ASW aircraft deployment site in the Atlantic and Mediterranean. Cap- tain Rodriguez has served two tours with the staff of Patrol Wing Eleven. ln Jacksonville, a tour on the staff of Cruiser-Destroyer Group Twelve which included two Mediterranean deployments, and from 1979 to 1980 a tour as Operations Officer with Com- mander Fleet Air Keflavik, lce- land. While in Keflavik, his staff was awarded the Navy Unit Commendation for extensive anti- submarine and surface surveil- lance operations against Soviet forces in the Norwegian Sea. l-lis shore assignments in- clude a tour as an instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy and, upon promotion to Captain in July 1981, a command tour of the Naval Reserve Officer Training fNROTCl Unit at the University of lllinois. Captain Rodriguez has a masters degree in Oceanography from the Naval Post graduate School in Monterey, California. I-le has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, and the Meritorious Unit Commenda- tion Ribbon. He married to the former Carolyn Disanti of New York City and has three children: Pamela, Rita Marie, and Edward.

Cantwell assumed duties as the Command Master Chief of Stump on 22 June 1985. He was born in Ozark County, Missouri, and enlisted in the United States Navy in Kansas City, Missouri in August 1958. After recruit training and Basic Hospital Corpsman School in San Diego, California, his first tour of duty was the Naval Hospital at Parris Island, South Carolina. Subsequent tours included, USS INDEPENDENCE QCV-623, NAVSECGRUACTY Edzell. Scotland, MSTS Headquar- ters Brooklyn, New York, Fleet Marine Force Bootcamp Camp Legune, North Carolina, lst Marine Airwing in Danang, Republic of Vietnam, NRTC Spartenburg, South Carolina, Vietnamese Advisor School Coronado, California, 2nd Recon Batallion, Camp Lejune, North Carolina, Submarine Medical School Groton, Connecticut, USS BLUE FISH QSSN-676Jg USS GRANT QSSBN-63113 Naval Hospital, Key West, Florida, Navv Safety Center Norfolk, Virginia, CONSUBRON 18 Charleston, South Carolina. Spanning his 27 year career noted achievements are: Helicopter Aircrew wings, earned with the lst Marine Airwing in Danang in 1969, Submarine service Dolphins aboard the USS GRANT QSSBN-6315. Selection as Command Master Chief in 1981 for COMSUBRON 18, the first corpsman to be selected as a line community command master chief. This necessitated a rating change to PNCM. While at COMSUBRON he earned his urface Wirfare Specialist Silver Cutlasses. His award included the Air Medal. Navy Commendation Medal. Navy Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal with 7 stars. National Defense Medal. Sea Service Ribbon. Master Chief Cintwell is married to the former Lori More of Yemasee, South Carolina. The Cantwell's have 5 children: Gregg, Albert, Randy, Denise and Kimberly.
