Forwarded with great appreciation for the invaluable time and energy put forth by STUMP personnel in the presentation of an extremely worthwhile retention improvement ideas package. 2. Although COMCRUDESGRU EIGHT endorsed USS STUMP's ideas as part of the Retention Improvement Idea package submitted as reference CCD, it is felt that his package requires special attention. It is obvious that the efforts of USS STUMP Command Retention Team regarding the assessment of the Navy's retention program go well beyond a statement of the problems. The team has taken action to analyze the problems and present realistic employable solutions. If the ideas presented in the ten enclosures were acted upon the Navy could guarantee not only better long term retention but also a better quality of life for our Navy personnel. Because the most of USS STUMP's retention ideas present some important solutions every effort should be made to promote their implementation. R. L.
