1 ueen Emily Donna Baird and Spokesman Queen Emily Fatica, portraying Swamily, predicts a victory for the red and black during the Kiski rally. Chosen by the student body of Strong Vincent to reign as the 1965 Spokesman Queen was lovely Emily Fatica. Her school spirit, quiet charm and grace, com- bined with a warm personality make Emily a popular senior and a most worthy queen. Emily and five other contestants were nominated by the students as Spokesman Queen candidates. The girls carried on the traditional campaign with posters, slo- gans, and tags. They thus encouraged the students to purchase a yearbook so that they would be eligible to cast a' ballot for the candidate of their choice. Everyone joins the Spokesman staff in extending their sincere congratulations to Emily, an excellent choice. l

The annual mock United Nations was held at Gannon this fall, with Vincent representing the Pakistan delegation. Seated above are P. Cowan, R. Beall, R. Cleaver, and C. Thompson. At right are R. Moore, B. Hayden, B. Coleman, N. Pelinsky, J. Salzer, and P. , Cowan. A y Vincent represents Pakistan Foreign exchange student welcomed Vincent warmly welcomes the arrival of Bente Sorensen. Staying with her American sister, Cindy Hagelstein, Bente graced our halls with her schlide rule, winning the hearts of students and faculty alike. It has not been a one-sided experience, though. America taught her how to get along with its friendly outgoing natives. She said, All this makes you realize how much you can receive when you give yourself. At left, Bente models her native costume which she designed and embroidered herself. Below, in one of her many hand-knit ski sweaters, she joins Joyce Slagle in a lively discussion at the Christmas A.F.S. party. l v 19

Vincentls loveliesl girls vie for beauty crowns The six lovely candidates for the 1965 Spokesman Queen were chosen by the students of Strong Vincent. The nominees were Emily Fatica, Kathy Ponsford, Jeanne Riester, Wendy McLallen, Marcia Prassack, and Kathy Turify. To win the honor of Track Queen, Janet Colao sold the greatest number of tickets to the meet. Strong Vincent's representatives to the All-City Track Meet held last spring at the Stadium were Michele Boccio, Queen Janet Colao, and Lynda Edmonds. 21
