Teachers and students alike were stunned when the news reached our halls. In her eleven years on the Vincent faculty, Miss Heywang's work as a teacher. counselor, and friend was invaluable to Inany. She began her vocational training at Villa lllaria College, continuing at Edinhoro State Teachers Vollege, the University of Pittsburgh, and Pennsylvania State Uni- versity, to earn her BS. and M.A. degrees, Before coming to Vincent she taught at lYarren Pa., East and Academy High Scllools. An outstanding shorthand and typing teacher, Nliss Heywang presented tech- niques that made learning a much easier process. As a counselor and friend, she tried to understand her students' problems and kept them in deepest confidence. For these things she will not be forgotteli.
