outlet in a Varied program of learning .. Commercial To meet the need of the increasing number of men and women em- ployed in business, Strong Yineent has a strong Business Edueation De- partment, whieh is steadily growing in size and constantly improving its instruetion and physical set-up. The first objeetive of the Department is to equip the student with the neeessary skills with whieh he may earn his living. To attain this objec- tive eourses are offered in Business Arithnietie, Bookkeeping, Short- hand. Typing and Ufiiee Praetiee. 'l'he seeond objeetive of the Business Ifidueation Department, equally important, is to inspire the student to beeoine an aetive and capable eitizen of his eolnnninity. Thus our great aim is that the student master his skills and learn to get along with his fellow worker. February of eaeh year finds hir. Schenek up to his ner-k in in- come tax reports. Along with his Bookkeeping teaching assign- ments, he has served as sehool treasurer for many years. To the ehagrin of most ol' us his Room Q23 is the perennial leader in funds collected during our welfare drives. Shorthand is a language in itself, as Mrs. Aisheiiner's first year elasses soon diseover in their ini- tial etlorts to master it. This is aehievenl through the physical etlnc-ation classes, health classes and safety eclneation. lt, is that area of eclneation which, lmeeanse it tleals with the hotly in action, has as one of its major ainis the rlevelopnlent of a more sensitive eontrol of the hotly for more effective functioning.
