Gretchen liungc James J. Wick John wvdlllllfll VVith our deepest respect and admiration, we dedicate this nineteen hundred forty-three Spokesman to those alumni, . former students and members ol' the faculty ol' Strong Vincent High School who are now serving in the armed forces of the United States, working toward one common goal-Victory. It is with humility that we realize the insignilicance of those things that we do in the hope of making their tremendous task less difficult, but it is our desire to give them assurance that we are standing hehind them i'ull-force in thought, work, and deed. To those of our faculty, who have given up their positions at Strong Vincent in order that they might serve us in another more important and more urgent way, we feel that special recognition is due. John Wallach and James J. Wick, hetter known to us out- side of class as H.lolmnie and HJin1n1y, wl1o are now serving in the armed forces, and Gretchen Lange, who is overseas as a Bed Cross hostess, are those of whom we speak and in whom we take great pride as examples of our folks in service.
Nlr. Leberman Who of us will ever forget the two people who stand behind our school, its many activities and its student body? Of course, none of us could forget them, for their con- stant friendship and good will have helped us through our many school problems and difficulties. Wihen we were newcomers to this school, their genuine smiles and sincere greet- ings were such that we felt right at home and we knew at once that they l1ad a personal interest in the welfare of each one of us. We salute you and thank you, Mr. Leberman, our principal and Miss Connell, our assistant principal. Nliss Connell
