i l SPANISH CLUI3 President - - - Paul Anderson Vice President - - Merrie Behymer Secretary - - - - Adaline Awbrey Treasurer ---- - - - Dick Stark Program Chairman - - - - lane Davidson Adviser --------- Miss Sherwood The Spanish Club was organized to create an interest in Spanish and Spanish speaking countries. The club held its meetings everv other Tuesday of the year. During these meetings, many Spanish songs were sung, games played, lotteries held, and many other contests were staged. On February eleventh new members were initiated into the club. The club presented two assembly programs. The first was a play, a selection by the orchestra, and a burlesque bull fight. The second consist- ed of a play partly in Spanish and partly in English. The club had four parties-a Christmas party, playing the Mexican game pinatas : a party celebrating Easter: a party in honor of Cervantes, a famous Spanish author: and the real fete of the year, a Spanish fiesta. At the last, many delicious Spanish foods were served, and after dinner there were many interesting games and music. During the year, some crossword puzzles were given to the members to stimulate an interest in increasing their vocabularies. There was a prize given to the one who finished his puzzle first and had it correct. The club has accomplished its goal in making members more interested in learning Spanish and keeping its members interested in increasing their vocabularies. -29,,
