Boys' Basketball
The boys had a' good season They won 10 games out of 22 and were co champions
in the conference and took first place in the county tournament They also Won the
sectional tournament and will play in the district tournament Four of the first tearn
will not be back next year They are Lloyd lrvin Ronnie Curtis Wayne Anderson
and Merritt Wortman
Here are some ofthe totals and averages thus far The boys scored a total of
l 278 points and an average of 58 points per game The ir opponents had a total of
883 points and an average of 40 points per game High scorers were Wayne Ander
son Lloyd lrvin and Ronnie Curtis with totals of 405 302 and 275 or an average
of 10 18 and 13 points per game so far
The boys have prospects tor a good season next year and we all wish them the best
of luck
Girls' Basketball
Strahan s girls' team enjoyed a very good season this year They won 22 games
their season Graduating this year will be Jackie lsom and Mary Jo Hathaway
The girls were in the Southwest Iowa ratings all season and were rated first at the
outset of the season They dropped to fifth and continued to hold down that spot the
rest of the season
The girls had a 73 5 point offensive average per game while compiling 1 680
points during the season They held their opponents to 44 5 points per game and
l 24 points for thc season Deanna Grindle was high point for the season with 545
points She was closely followed by Jackie lsom and .Toselle lsorn with 520 points
and 503 points respectively
The girls have some good prospects and should enjoy good stasons to rome
