James Fields, Calvin Settle, Donna Cain, Joyce Cooley and Robert Hardman enjoy taping their voices in English class. The most vital subject on Stonewall's curriculum is English. Those who wonder why they are required to take this course throughout school have not given adequate consideration to the advantages of correct speech and extensive vocabulary. In ancient times, one who spoke and wrote vividly was respected by all. Eloquence is still a good friend. The mechanics of writing and speaking are not the sole ingredients of an English class. The study of great literature and its authors bring a world of new ideas to the student. Through literature one may visit exotic lands or discover new facets of our own heritage. Your experiences in an English class may be humor- ous, inspiring, helpful, or thought-provoking. What other subject opens the door to so many new experi- ences?
