THE SENIOR CLASS
of
Stoneville High School
Stoneville, North Carolina
"Neither do men light a candle, and put it
under a bushel, but on a Candlestick, and
it giveth light unto all that are in the house. "
Matthew 5:15
In honor of the many efforts in helping us achieve our goal as Seniors, we
lovingly dedicate the 1962 PIONEER to Mrs. Margaret Lewis.
By this token we wish to express our gratitude for the inspiration as well as
the knowledge gained with your help. You have given us many moments in our
last four years at Stoneville School which will always be dear to our hearts, and
which we will always remember.

lt is the aspiration of any senior class to produce an annual of outstanding quality,
for this is the only true example of its unified effort. As the year draws to a close, we
look back with pleasure upon the events that have filled our cup of memories to over-
flowing .s We have attempted to capture the best and most outstanding of these memories
between the covers of PIONEER.
We consider ourselves very fortunate to have an advisor as capable as Mrs. Doris
Frye to help us over the rough spots. Indeed, to produce this annual has required not
only our talent but our effort, cooperation, and seriousness of attitude.
It is with pride, then that the graduating class presents the PIONEER as the consum-
mation of high school activity. We hope that we have succeeded in our endeavor to
presenta good annual to you, the Students 'of Stoneville High School. With the sincere
wish that each of you will find among these pages something special - something you
will remember for a long, long time - we give you the . . . PIONEER.

LEE ETTA KALLAM
Born . . . March 15, 1942
Died . . . Sept. 18, 1960
It singeth low in every heart,
We hear it each and all -
A song of those who answer not,
However we may call,
They throng the silence of the breast,
We see them as of yore -
The kind, the brave, the sweet,
Who walk with us no more.
