Dear Seniors: We find it difficult to believe that next year we will ioin the long line of dis- tinctive Senior Classes of Stoneleiqh. As the biggest class in the school, we cer- tainly have the potential to shoulder the responsibilities set before us. Our Class President, Barbara Lloyd, and our representative to Student Council, Sue Buckner, have both been a credit to the class. Our "High Times" staff has worked hard all year to put out a paper that would be appreciated by all. Under the leadership of "Mike" Hughes as editor-in-chief, we feel that the results have fully justified the effort. In order to raise money for our Yearbook, we sponsored a dance with New Hampton, sold sandwiches, and ran a very successful Junior Prom Weekend in the Spring. To you, Big Sisters, we wish all the luck in the world, and hope that all your dreams come true. Sincerely, The Class of l958. PJ gf A particularly atteniive sophomore class Mickey and Rusty. Dear Seniors: Our class grew to such an extent during the summer, that we delayed elections until the end of the fall term, when our able leaders were chosen. We are very proud of our two classmates, Janet MacLaughlin and Sue Fowler, who have earned high honors each term. Janet is also our class representative to the Student Council, and has done an excellent iob. Our first dance was held with Proctor Academy in November, and this activity, along with the proceeds from the sale of ice cream through- out the year, have made our treasury grow. We are grateful to Mrs. McFee for her wholehearted cooperation, particularly during our very successful Winter Carnival Weekend which we held in February. Thank you, Seniors, for your guidance and understanding. The Class of 1959 an ua FRESHME 'bg-9' ,Asa .hfimiw Front row: Beverly Mitchell, Susan White, Mrs. Deems, Elizabeth Killam, .loan Mitchell. We have found boarding school a new and Wonderful ex- perience. Along with Sue, we elected Betty Killam, Vice Pres- ident, Beverly Mitchell, Secretary, and Joan Mitchell, Treas- urer. Mrs. Deems has been a very patient and understand- ing advisor, and her help has been greatly appreciated. This year, Freshman Class proiects have included a prof- itable raffle, a dance, and cookie-baking. This year, the Student Council was merged into a single governing body made up of representatives elected from each class. A new con- stitution was drawn up, and a more effective disciplinary system in- troduced. Weekly Faculty-Student Council meetings were established in order to promote a closer relationship between the students and teachers, as well as to aid in the better understanding of the needs,ot each group. The- first program of the year was the presentation of the annual Christmas tableaux, a beautiful re-creation of scenes of the Holy Family at Christmas time, taken from famous paintings. The major production this year was "Our Town," a three-act play by Thornton Wilder which was given in April. However, it was not performed in the conventional manner, but along more modern lines, as a reading-the success of the play depending entirely upon the skill with which the parts are spoken. The large cast worked in- dustriously to make it an enjoyable and forceful performance. In the Spring, a fashion show was presented in co-operation with several Greenfield stores, which climaxed the year's activities for the club. I WXXV I If I .
