High School Principal
RICHARD HOWLETT
Dear Seniors:
It is a pleasure to send greetings and best wishes to all of
you Seniors of '56 and your many friends. Congratulations
on your achievements and best wishes for future success. I
feel that school is not merely a preparation for life, but life
itself, and that the attitudes and habits that you develop here
are equally as important as the educational and vocational
tools that you acquire in our various courses.
We sincerely feel that the opportunities have been here
for those who availed themselves of them. May your life
here with us be a stepping stone to future success, and may
each of you remember that there is no substitute for good,
honest work and conscientious effort to make a living for your-
self and a worthy contribution to your fellowmen.
Sincerely,
Richard Howlett

For the first time journalism and Advanced
English was offered as a course in
Stockbridge High. Along with this
came the work on the school paper
which was greeted by enthusiasm
by the high school. Many extra
hours were spent on the "Si1ver
Scoop" but the experience proved
very rewarding.

Varsity Hasketball
Coach Prudon had a new team to work with this year having lost eight lettermen by
graduation. Only three lettermen reported for practice.
Although the team wasn't in the winning column, much was accomplished by the
boys and their coach.
Charles Bumpus, Marv Camburn, Ron Mills, Tom Basore, and Bob Julien will be
lost via graduation.

of inexperience. The majority of the players were Freshmen. We are looking forward to another
very successful season next year.

a thrill and much hope for the future.
Graduating players are Tom Basore, Charles Bumpus, Marv Camburn, Ells Crandall, Maynard
Corwin, Jack l-lassencahl, Ron Mills, and Paul Ramsdell. Ells Crandall was elected Honorary
