History
The Future Homemakers of Amer-
ica was formed for the purpose of de-
veloping leadership and social quali-
ties within the minds and lives of high
school students in the field of home
economics. F. H. A. is founded on
the principle that more is achieved
through group cooperation than is
achieved through individual competi-
tion. Membership is open to any girl
who has had or is taking homemaking
and who lives up to the standards set
by the club. F. H. A. activities include
many projects and recreational func-
tions! The state rally held in Oklahoma
106
City is always attended by the Still-
water chapter.
Last summer four F. H. A.'ers-
Norma Collyar, Mary Ieanette Wiley,
Vera Faye Tomlinson, and Marybelle
Trent-attended the Regional Conven-
tion held in Memphis, Tennessee. Vera
Faye, past state president, is now serv-
ing as student editor for the student
section, 'KWh:it's New In Home Econ-
omicsf'
The club mothers are Mrs. Iohn
Heusel and Mrs. Eugene Powers. The
F. H. A. advisors are Mrs. Elizabeih
Brock and Miss Marian Brown.
