Kap I g., IXWI I II Il II I Il I Twice A Month Our Council Meets, There Each Representative Speaks All extra-curricular activities are controlled by the STUDENT COUNCIL made up ot representa- tives elected by the home rooms. In addition all seniors who are elected chairmen ot committees automatically are included. In order that the Council may more etticiently govern the student body, ten committees are ap- pointed at the beginning ot each year. Reports are made at the bi-monthly council meetings. All our less tortunate classmates were cheered during periods ot illness by the WELFARE COMMITTEE. The ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE provided tor us, during the year, a lot ot tine entertainment includ- ing excerpts from operas by the American Civic Opera Company and demonstrations on gyro- scopes by Mr. C. E. Jones. Also among our as- semblies were peppy mass meetings presented by the YELL COMMITTEE. AII visitors to our school were cordially welcomed and shown around by the ever-gracious members ot the RECEPTION COMMITTEE. All lost artic'es were caretully checked and taken care ot until claimed by the LOST AND FOUND COMMITTEE. The FLAG COMMITTEE zealousl tended "Old Y Glory" and saw to it that she tlew valiantly over the building to symbolize the spirit within. None ot our numerous plays could possibly have been presented without the cooperation ot the SCENERY COMMITTEE who have charge ot, set up, and clean all the scenery used. During our lunch periods, clever entertainment in the torm ot noon hour dancing was arranged tor by the very etticient NOON HOUR COMMIT- TEE. Music, provided on records, was really good jive, and these affairs were consistently well attend- ed. The FINANCE COMMITTEE had the job ot try- ing to keep our financial situation straightened out, and with activity periods, athletic funds, and as- sembly dues, this really was a iob. Last but not least, we have our HALL ancl BUILDING COM- IJIITTEE who did their best throughout the year to keep our school clean so we can be proud to place it in the care ot the classes ot the tuture.
