Prior to the Christmas holidays, several very deserving students were inducted into the National Honor Society and were joined by eight more at the close of the second semester. The class of 753 not only excelled intellectually, however, but in music, athletics, journalism, and various other fields. Also, the social life of the seniors was far from neglected. Early in April we sponsored the Senior dance, and Senior Recognition Day was another of the highlights of the year. Only under the able assistance of Miss Doris Burritt and Miss Ruth Welle could we have accomplished all that we did during this year. The class officers who worked with them were Ken Kraft, presidentg Dick Ohnen, vice-presidentg John Fasseler, treasurer, and Ann Lahman, secretary. 17 S I

As freshmen we had a very successful year under the leadership of Ann Farver, Carlyle Cameron, Ramon Gonzalez, and Ann Lahman. Our Freshman Mixer , which gave everyone an opportunity to get acquainted with his many new classmates, started us out on our new way of life for the following four years. A picnic held in the spring at Sinnissippi Park climaxed our initial year at Sterling Township High School. It wasnit very long before we had shed our green freshien titles and had begun our second year at S.H.S. One of the highlights of the year was Cupid,s Caper . Also, our class was the one to inaugurate the Sophomore Mixed Chorus. That year we were under the capable guidance of John Dillon, Dick Ohnen, Sylvia Bawden, and Doris Woessner. By the time we became Juniors, we had gained an abundance of valuable ex- perience in the art of giving successful partiesg and we used this information in making our Junior-Senior Prom, The Starlight Plaza , a real success. During the last semester, eight members of our class were inducted into the National Honor Society. This very busy year was led by Leone Wolber, Ken Kraft, Billie Huenger, and Carlyle Cameron. 16
