A' The Jackets started the season with a 25-19 victory over the Dublin Lions. Next the team competed in a tournament at Brownwood and was defeated in the finals by Cross Plains. The Jackets also placed second in the Gorman tournament and third in another held at De Leon. In preparation for the district play-off the Jackets encountered both Dublin and Huckaby in several practice tilts. In the games each team took its turn in winning. In the district tournament, held at Ranger February 19, the Jackets won their first game from Ranger by a score of ll-9, and their second one from Weatherford with a score of 18-14, These two victories placed the team second in the district. In this tournament the team suffered only one defeat and that at the hands of the fast Breckenridge team. Charles Wood--Forward Charles was the high- point man of the squadg his leadership had much to do with the team's victories.
