The games were played in the City Hall, which has one of the largest basket-ball floors in the state. The following eight teams were selected to take part in the tournament: Stephens High of Rumford, Edward Little, Lewiston, Lincoln Academy, South Portland, Portland, Deering and Westbrook. Rumford and South Portland opened the tournament play Friday afternoon and in a hard fought, clean, fast game, Rumford was defeated 28 to 23. The loss of Bradbury and C. Piawlock in the last half crippled Rumford's chance of winning.
