PERSONALITIES STONE FORT BEAUTY NUMBER ONE Cheryl King CHERYL KING, the most beautiful girl at Stephen F. Austin State College, is a 19 year old sophomore English major from Houston. She attended Milby High School, where she participated in numerous activi- ties. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl R. King and has a brother, Bill, of whom she is especially proud. A talented painter, she enjoys working with water col- ors. Her favorite pastime is dancing — and what a dream partner she is. At SFA, she is, of course, a member of the Dance Club, Chi Omega Sorority, and was Theta Chi Fraternity ' s Belle. When she graduates, she plans to teach in a secondary school. STONE FORT BEAUTY NUMBER TWO This rare beauty from Tyler is an avid participant in water skiing and enjoys exhibiting her riding poise at horse shows. She is a junior elementary education major from Tyler. Prior to attending SFA, she attended Texas Christian University and TyleV Junior College. She is a member of Chi Omega Sorority. STONE FORT BEAUTY NUMBER THREE A senior business education major from Center, Mary Wilson has held many honors at SFA. She was the 1963-64 Homecoming Queen, a member of Who ' s Who in American Colleges and Universities, president of Chi Omega Sorority, a member of Alpha Chi Honor Society, secretary of the Student Congress, Cutest Girl for two years, sophomore class favorite, freshman class secretary, and a member of Kappa Delta Pi and the Panhel- lenic Council. STONE FORT BEAUTY FINALISTS Rilea Erwin This sophomore busi- ness education major from Houston was Number 1 beauty in last year ' s Stone Fort contest and again in the top six this year. She was this year ' s Delta Sigma Phi Homecoming Duchess, selected as Most Beautiful in the Theta Chi Poll, a cheerleader, and a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. Frances Russell This freshman pre- law major from Spring, Texas, was nominated for the Stone Fort beauty contest and during her first year was selected among the top six beauties on campus. WESLEY is an active participant of all sports, he takes part in the intramural activities, and at one time he played football for Stephen F. Austin State College. TWINK SITTON is a rare combination of beauty, wit, charm and industry. This senior history major from Cushing has held many honors at SFA. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Romberg of Wright City. Denny Cook, a history major, is a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity in which he is Publicity Chair- man. He was also a member of the Student Congress, College Center President, and Interfraternity Council for which he has been secretary-treasurer for three years. He is the current editor of the Stone Fort yearbook. Denny is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Cook of Texas City. Diane Kanady, an English major, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Bickerstaff of Bullard. Linda Gann, a Spanish major, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Gann of Dallas. Gilbert Rhodes, a biology major, is a member of the Biology Club, Beta Beta Beta, Alpha Chi, and the Chemistry Club. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Rhodes of Timpson. Tom Warner, a business major, is the son of Mrs. Kathleen Flournoy of Jasper. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond E. Rose of Carthage. Gerri Smith, a home economics major, is a member of the Chi Omegas, and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Smith of Pasadena. She was elected Wittiest Girl in the Theta Chi Poll of last year. She has also held a class office and has been a homecoming duch- ess. Gerri was Pledge Trainer in her sororitv. Linda Barr, a music major, hails from San Augustine. She is the daughter of Ervry Barr. She is a former member of the Twirl-O- Jacks. Her sophomore year she was elected Sopho- more Class Favorite. She and her husband Jerry were also voted Cutest Married Couple in the Theta Chi Poll. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Jones of Nacogdoches. Thome Fuston, a social studies major, is a Delta Zeta, Kappa Delta Pi, and the Intersocial Club Coun- cil member. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hal- bert Clark Fuston of Waco. Charles Alexander, an English-Journalism and general business major, is the current editor of the Pine Log. He is the son of Mrs. Lucy Alexander of Carthage. Marilyn McCullough, a chemistry major, is a member of the Chemistry Club and a Delta Zeta.
