Walter A. REISTER was born on 14 March 1935 in Sparta, Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan and the United States Naval Academy, where he was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree and was commissioned an Ensign in the U. S. Navy in 1958. He later earned the Masters tion Officer with the Key West Test and Evaluation Detachment of Commander Operational Test and Evaluation Force. Prior to reporting to USS STEIN CDE 10651, he served briefly on the Staff, Commander Cruiser-Destroyer Force, U. S. Pacific Fleet, in the Readiness and Training Division. EXECUTIVE OFFICER Lieutenant Commander MAFtTl came to STEIN from George Washington University in Washington, DC, where he earned a masters degree in Financial Management. Lieutenant Commander MARTI was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 9, 1938, and graduated from Lane Technical High School, in the city, in 1956. He was commissioned an Ensign, U.S. Navy upon graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy on June 8, 1960. Previous tours of duty have been as Gunnery Officer, USS ORISKANY QCVA-341, Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer and Operations Officer, USS JOSEPH STRAUSS fDDG-161, Weapons Officer on the Staff of Commander Cruiser-Destroyer FLOTILLA NINE, and Administrative Assistant and Personal Aide to the Director, Navy Program Planning in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations.
