The girls who cheered so well for our wres- tlers were unique in that they were not chosen-they volunteered. Knowing something about cheering, but virtually nothing about wrestling, they set to work. They learned quickly and did a fine job of supporting and cheering on our wrestlers. Captain Debbie Bobbirt Cr' m Carol Smith Sandy Hubbard L-- Vi, if P Trudy Bobbitt 'ass ag, Cheerleaders 147

Q. P Wrestling Arrives on SRHS Sports Scene Q Wrestling was a newcomer to Staun- ton River this year. As might be ex- pected, the season was not one for win- ningp it was a time for learning. The young men who became wrestlers had to begin at knowing nothing about wres- tling and proceed from there. The first meet was held during school with most of the student body attending. Even though we were soundly defeated by - W, c A - Gretna, the action stirred a lot of enthu- siasm. Our hopes are that the team will continue to improve and that wrestling will become a favorite at Staunton River. Ili... . Referee declares T, Williams the winner.
