Cross Country Has Great Season The 1974 Cross Country season was a great one for the Eagles. Behind the steady performance of captains john Hall and Zane Branson, the Eagles ran their way to a 15-2 season and a tie for the Seminole District Champion- ship. The course, which was length- ened to 3 miles for the season, wan- dered about the campus and into surrounding woods, giving spectators a good view of the races. Coach Bol- ding worked hard to challenge and encourage the team and to win the support of the student body and fac- ulty. In the disappointing tie with Am- herst and Liberty for the District title, Ralph Ellis saved the day by passing six competitors in the last 200 yards. Zane Branson and john Hall went on to place 1st and 2nd in the Regional meet and 7th and 9th in the State AA competition.
