177WMC BOOSTER CLUB
Since its inception in 1958, the WMC Booster Club has been synonomous with the college's growth and progress through contributions which include over 350 academic scholarships valued in excess of $75,000.
During the past year, Boosters increased their number of $200 freshman grants from 40 to 51 with recipients selected on the basis of scholastic excellence and leadership potential. These scholarship awards are divided into quarterly payments, requiring the maintenance of above-average grades throughout the academic year.
The organization's membership, including area citizens from all walks of life, now totals over 140, each of whom contributes financially to the annual scholarship program. Current Booster officers are Dr. R. D. Romers, president; Bob Harrison, vice-president; Joe Lane, treasurer; and Charles Stauffer, secretary.
Serving on the recently-expanded board of directors are Max Nield, Bob Gerringa, Henry Stish, Walter Albertson, Don Crosser, Cliff Henningsen, Norm Stubbs, Jim Wilson, John Morse, Don Peterson, Jim Corr, B. W. Lodge, J. Lester Jones, Dr. R. J. English, Rev. Keith Lokensgard, Tom Delaney, and Spence Hegstad.
