Spring brings gentle spirits Oklahoma's March winds iust may have been 1,200 sighs of relief as winter weather left the state. Spring was picnic time, baseball time, and go-fly-a-kite time. Gentle spirits migrated to Lincoln Park, soak- ing up sun in helter-skelter tennis matches, or boosting Bobcats in anoth- er try for State Baseball championship. Girls traded winter's slacks for a try at earning cheerleading uniforms. ts -s-s. ,t rx ugh' ' g we .. Student Life Pep Club initiotion comicol Although their projects differed in purposes, S-SHS's active individuals had little trouble finding the necessary effort to make the mid-winter events successful. Student Council girls unsuccessfully met the S-SHS men faculty in a basket- ball game that gained both laughter and money for the council officer's summer workship. New Pep Club members were again properly shamed by the club's annnual initiation as they performed the strange routines and dressed in the prescribed odd garb. Initiation days were given the titles Snoopy and Rocket Day. Up the Down Staircase ran into many an hour of painstaking practice as its Thespian cast and crew perfected their various roles for the play's open- ing in March. LEFT: Air Raid! is heard and Pep Club girls hit the floor as part of their initiation harassment' from old members.
