Kitchen Shines — buildings Qlearn — Motors Mum Under Zheir Hands. The warm and appetizing atmosphere in the cafeteria is due largely to the efforts of the school cooks. Their crisp uniforms, sanitary kitchen, and well-balanced meals make noon hour looked forward to by all students. Mechanics SAM EDWARDS A. T. TOWNSEND Careful planning by the dietitian, and long hours of prep- aration go into all the meals they serve. Keeping the fleet of buses running smoothly are the MECHANICS. About 70 per cent of the student body is transported, each bus making only one run. Students leave home at a reasonable time, and leave school at 3:05. Keeping our school clean and warm are the CUSTO- DIANS. Their untiring efforts are shown in the top con- dition in which they keep the buildings and the campus. Custodians MRS. J. L. BOYD J. L. Outstanding Senior BARBORA KAY MARTIN One of the highest honors that a senior can receive is being selected Out- standing Senior by vote of the high school faculty. This year the honor was won by Barbora Kay Martin. Barbora Kay will always be remembered around SCHS for her pleasant personality and friendly, cooperative spirit. In addition to maintaining a high scholastic record, she participated in many extracurricular activities and served in positions of leadership in many organizations. She was elected to the National Honor Society in her junior year and during her high school years participated in the Girls' Choir (3 Years). Student Council (1 Year). Future Teachers (2 Years). Safe Drivers Club (2 Years), Press Club (2 Years). Com- mercial Club (1 Year). Sharps and Flats (1 Year), was a member of the Junior Play Cast and the Senior Play Cast. She served as secretary of the class in both her junior and senior year, and during her senior year was Circulation Manager of the ROCKET and Co-Editor of the STAR. Another honor which she won was the Betty Crocker Homemaker Award. Barbora Kay was also active in church activities having sung in her church choir for four years, and served as secretary for her class in both Sunday School and Training Union.
